How irot Brief reads a letter
Try it with an invented fine notice (Bußgeldbescheid). Soon you will photograph your own letter – the result looks just like this. The letter is in German – just as it arrives at your door.
What is this?
An authority accuses you of an administrative offence – usually in traffic – and sets a fine, sometimes with penalty points or a driving ban.
If you do nothing
Two weeks after service the notice becomes final: the fine must be paid, and points and any driving ban apply.
Your options
- Pay
- Object (Einspruch) – possible without reasons
- Request access to the file
- With points or a driving ban: a traffic lawyer
Demonstration with an invented letter: no real authority, no real person. The deadline calculation is real.
Who wrote to you?
For every kind of letter: what it means, which deadline applies, what you can do and who helps for free.

Why you can trust the result
A program calculates; no AI guesses. The deadline comes from fixed rules we checked against the text of the law – every rule is documented with the date we read it and secured by thousands of automatic tests.
The safe side. Where two readings are possible, we show the earlier end and say why it may be later. A day too early costs nothing – a day too late can cost you your objection.
Your data stays with you. The calculators run entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent, nothing stored, no cookies, no access logs.
irot Brief gives general information and calculates deadlines under the statutory rules. It does not check whether a decision is correct and is not legal advice. Every letter page names who can advise you.
Do you advise people with official letters?
